My child feels lonely or not seen

My child feels lonely or not seen

Sometimes a child feels alone or thinks no one sees him. For example, at school or in the neighborhood. This can make a child feel sad. You as a parent can recognize these feelings and help your child. Together you can look for what helps.

What can you do?

What can you do?

Conversation with your network

Talk to people close to you, such as family, friends or other parents. Tell them what you are worried about. They may have tips, or it may help to share your story.

Discuss with school

Also talk to the teacher, master or someone else at school you trust. They can think along and see how they can better help your child in the classroom.

Exercise and activities

Get your child involved in sports or fun activities. This will allow your child to make new friends through play and make contact more easily.

The Children's Telephone

If you notice that your child is embarrassed or doesn't feel comfortable starting a conversation, state The Children's Telephone always ready for a confidential and anonymous listening ear.

What do we do?

What do we do?

Does your child continue to feel alone? And isn't succeeding with help from school or others? Then we like to think along with you. Together we look for help that fits, so that your child feels comfortable again with other children.
