Gaming: how do I keep it balanced?

Gaming: how do I keep it balanced?

Gaming is fun. It helps you relax, keep in touch with friends and challenge yourself. Whether you enjoy playing FIFA, Fortnite, Minecraft or other games - it can enhance your creativity and skills. But sometimes you get so caught up in it, it's good to take a moment to reflect: how is my gaming really going?

What can you do?

What can you do?

Check how it feels for you

Above all, gaming should be fun. But do you feel stressed when you can't play? Do you get into arguments about it or sleep less? Then it's smart to see if you can find some more balance. You don't have to stop, but you do have to keep control.

Talk about it with people around you

Do you know someone who also gambles a lot? A friend, family member or someone at school? Talking about it often gives you new ideas. Or it can just be a relief if something is bothering you - for example, if you're upset about a game or the annoying behavior of others online.

Do other things as well

Gaming is cool, but variety is important. Go outside occasionally, play sports, or meet up with friends without a screen. That helps clear your head. You don't have to give up anything, but make sure your life doesn't consist only of gaming.

Make arrangements with yourself

You don't have to have a tight schedule, but agreements do help. Consider: until what time am I allowed to game during the week? When do I take a break? Which games make me feel good, and which ones don't?

Notice that gaming is becoming too much?

Sometimes you find that gaming defines your day. Your schoolwork suffers, you get worse grades, don't keep your appointments or feel gloomy when you don't play. That's not crazy - but it is a signal to seek help. Atgaminginfo.co.ukyou'll find great tips, videos from YouTubers and help with quitting or cutting down on gaming.
